LAUGHTER and love, and the world is bright as the light in the eyes of the one he loves,
Filling with song and with sweetness of summer the murmuring meads where he moves.
For she smiled, and the smile on her lips was as warmth-giving wine that is sweeter than song,
Was as scent of the flow'rs that the spring brings forth;
and his spirit was strong
With the strength of a man who knows he is loved of the woman whose love is his life;
And the form of her, fairer than Helen of old, and the name of her – "Wife."
